Bobbi L. Thury
Bobbi Thury joined the firm in 2008. Initially, Bobbi practiced in the general areas of business law, real estate, and estate planning. Bobbi developed a passion for estate planning and began focusing her practice in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, trust and estate litigation, guardianship and conservatorships. The experience of drafting estate plans and litigating trust and estate matters provides an understanding of the law surrounding trusts and estates, a true advantage for clients. Bobbi is committed to serving the needs of clients with integrity and dedication.
Bobbi is from Parkston, South Dakota. She graduated with highest honors from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary sciences. Bobbi continued her education and graduated from the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business with a Master of Business Administration. In 2007, she graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law. While in law school, Bobbi was a member of the South Dakota Law Review, serving as the Managing Editor from 2006 to 2007.
Following law school, Bobbi clerked for the South Dakota Second Judicial Circuit. Bobbi is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the State Bar of Minnesota, the Second Circuit Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Sioux Falls Estate Planning Council, and the South Dakota Planned Giving Council. She serves on the Trust Committee, Uniform Trust Code Committee, and the Business Law Committee of the State Bar of South Dakota. Currently, Bobbi is serving as Chair of the subcommittee of the Business Law Committee working on revising the South Dakota Nonprofit Corporation Act.
Bobbi and her husband, Chad, have two children and two Great Danes that keep them very busy.
