Onna B. Houck
Onna graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, with a degree in history and earned her law degree with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law. While in law school, Onna was a member of the Journal of Gender, Race, and Justice and volunteered at Iowa Legal Aid. She joined the firm in 2005 after completing a clerkship for Iowa’s Second Judicial District.
Railroad law and related matters have given Onna experience in trial courts throughout the region. Onna has represented both unions and management in labor matters; and has pursued claims touching on issues that affect all aspects of employment. Her practice also includes probate and guardianship litigation. Onna has wide exposure to all areas of civil litigation, from trial through appeals.
Onna is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the Iowa Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Onna is active in Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sioux Empire, Junior Achievement, and participates in the Second Circuit Bar Association's Pro Bono Project. An avid Hawkeye fan, Onna enjoys fall visits to Iowa City.
