William D. Sims

Bill joined the firm in 2008. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa. Bill graduated magna cum laude from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri with a degree in public administration and criminal justice in 2000. Bill obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, with high honors in 2003. He was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 2003 and to the South Dakota Bar in 2008.

After graduation, Bill served in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate. Bill was responsible for prosecution of crimes, handling of claims for and against the government and providing legal opinions on base activities. Bill was also an Area Defense Counsel where he defended military members in criminal cases throughout the United States. Bill separated from active duty in 2008, and moved to Sioux Falls with his family. He is currently a Major in the South Dakota Air National Guard.

Bill and his wife have four children.
